DDA stands for a Downtown Development Authority, which was developed to accomplish two main objectives in older downtowns:
To prevent downtown deterioration
To promote economic growth and revitalization.
DDAs are authorized through Public Act 197 of 1975, as amended. Although established by the Village of Ortonville in 1986, a board of local citizens and business owners run the DDA. Our DDA has been instrumental in the village's streetscape improvements and sponsoring local events, such as the very successful Creekfest.
Ortonville is certified as a National Main Street Community!!!
Who benefits from a Revitalized Commercial District by applying Main Street principles?
Please contact us at 248-627-8070 if you wish to make a donation. *The DDA is a non-profit organization, and as usual, you should contact your personal accountant regarding any beneficial tax deductions.
